Meet Cecilia Mendez, the Creative Director of Weddings Roatan. Cecilia was born and raised on the island of Utila. She completed high school and college on mainland Honduras, then returned to Utila to work as a dive instructor for a bit before traveling through Central America. Cecilia moved to Roatán about 20 years ago.
Cecilia’s venture into wedding planning started when a couple came to the hotel where she was working. They said they loved the hotel and wanted to hold their wedding there. More and more couples wanted to have their wedding at the hotel, so she became their dedicated wedding planner. As the demand for destination weddings continued, Cecilia saw an opportunity to open up her own business.
