Cecilia and Maria lead our team and have been offering wedding services in Roatan since 2001. Their vast experience, qualifications, island knowledge and connections, ensure your special day is as wonderful as you envision and beyond.
Cecilia is the director of events and will work closely one-on-one with every couple and wedding party to carefully plan your bespoke ceremony and celebrations. Having gained her Beverly Clark Wedding Planner certification in the U.S. over 20 years ago, and also INIBEP (Instituto Iberoamericano Wedding & Event Planner) and Union Euroamericana Event Planner.
She is the best wedding island resource for suggestions and organisations, whatever your dream day and stay may involve, she will strive to achieve it for you.
Maria oversees aesthetics and location design, she will consult intimately with you, to understand exactly how you picture your ideal location and decor details. Alternatively, if you need inspiration, she can suggest bespoke island decorative themes and flairs.
Cecilia and Maria employ many other professional and inspired staff, with whom they have long-standing working relationships, depending on each couple’s needs such as hair and makeup artists, chefs, wedding officials, transportation managers, photographers and videographers, florists and so on. Together our team will do their utmost to provide you the very best experience.

Cecilia Mendez is the founder and lead wedding planner behind Weddings Roatan, bringing local expertise, personal attention, and years of experience to every celebration she plans.
With an in-depth knowledge of Roatán and strong relationships with trusted island vendors, Cecilia helps couples navigate every part of planning a destination wedding—from choosing the perfect venue and coordinating vendors to transportation, guest logistics, timelines, and wedding-day details.
Her approach is highly personalized. Cecilia takes the time to understand each couple’s priorities, style, and vision, then works closely with them to create a celebration that feels authentic, beautiful, and thoughtfully planned.
She has experience coordinating everything from intimate elopements and romantic proposals to larger destination weddings, Catholic ceremonies, vow renewals, and cruise weddings designed around limited time in port.
For Cecilia, wedding planning is about much more than organizing an event. It is about making couples feel supported and confident while creating an unforgettable experience for them and the people they love.
