Feeling jitters leading up to your wedding day is completely normal. After all, it is a big change in your life. Feelings might creep up no matter how long you’ve been together or how in love you are.
Your feelings are valid and they shouldn’t be kept bottled up inside. Discuss what’s making you anxious with your fiancé. Maybe he or she has jitters too. Support each other and discuss a way to get through it. You can also talk to friends and family members who have recently been married and see how they dealt with the inevitable jitters.
But talking isn’t for everyone. Think of some ways to lessen the stress and anxiety on your own. Practice some relaxation techniques, go for a run, or take a nice bubble bath. Even reaching out to a friend to help take some minor tasks off your hands could give a bit of relief to the things you have piled on daily.
Or maybe spending some time with your fiancé where you aren’t discussing the wedding would help. Visit a favorite restaurant, watch a movie you can both laugh at, or look at photos of happy memories. Dedicate time each week to enjoy each other’s company and remember all of the positives in your relationship!
